With the master's program in Caritas Science and Value-Based Management, the department has a focus in the area of Caritas Science, which will be strengthened by flanking research and doctorates of students from the program. Currently, work is being done on the historical dimension from pastoral medicine to prison chaplaincy. A research focus is to be developed in the area of the structure of Caritas in the second half of the 20th century.
