Research assistants
The Chair of Romance Languages and Cultures (Chairholder Professor Ursula Reutner) of the University of Passau invites applications for the post of
Graduate Teaching Assistant
('Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin / Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter')
to start in 2018 (starting date negotiable). This is a fixed-term, part-time post offered at 0.5 full-time equivalent.Remuneration is in line with pay grade TV-L E13 of the German public-sector salary scale.
Duties and responsibilities
- The responsibilities of this post include teaching 2.5 academic hours per week during the semester, assisting the Chair with its research projects and lending a hand with the related organisational matters when and as needed.
Research interest in linguistics
- The successful candidate will have a research interest in the situation of the Romance languages in multilingual nations (e.g. Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico or Colombia), and particularly in African states (official policies with regard to language; linguistic peculiarities).
Person specification
- You have a master's or equivalent degree in the area of Romance Linguistics as well as competencies in two Romance languages and intend to write a doctoral thesis on this subject.
