The prize, endowed by the Neuburg Discussion Group for Science and Practice, was presented to her by Vice President Prof. Dr. Werner Gamerith on November 14 as part of the celebrations marking the University of Passau’s anniversary.
The focus of “AI Ethics in Practice” was on the ethical challenges faced by engineers and technicians when working with AI, as well as ways to teach and learn the necessary ethical competencies.
As part of the AIEP project, a continuing education program with a university certificate was developed in collaboration with regional companies, aimed at technical and engineering professionals in the region.
The program addresses ethical challenges related to the development and use of AI in industry in a theoretical an practical way. Participants not only explore fundamental issues in AI and technology ethics but also discuss real-world case studies to strengthen their applied ethical competencies.
The AIEP project was funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts (StMWK).
