Book Symposium: Migration, Childhood, and the Boundaries of Justice

On May 6, 2026 (3:30–5:00 PM, online) a discussion will take place about the 2025 work by Prof. Dr. Karoline Reinhardt and Dr. Gottfried Schweiger, “Migration, Childhood, and the Boundaries of Justice. What Do We Owe to Unaccompanied Minor Refugees?”

Moderated by Laura Martena (Academy for Political Education Tutzing), the discussion will include Prof. Dr. Susanne Mantel (University of Heidelberg), Prof. Dr. Michael Reder (Munich School of Philosophy), and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Toprak (Dortmund University of Applied Sciences) exploring central questions of the work, which sheds light on the living conditions and development opportunities of children with refugee and migration experiences and advocates for a model of differenciated responsibility. Afterwards, Prof. Dr. Karoline Reinhardt and Dr. Gottfried Schweiger will respond to the comments in rebuttals.
