Moderated by Ursula Unger and opened with a keynote by Melanie Saxinger, seven women - Dr. Franziska Armbruster, Dorothee Eisenlohr, Isabel Jahn, Stefanie Peters, Prof. Dr. Karoline Reinhardt, Kirstin Roßgoderer, and Sinje Wojahn - spoke about their experiences in professional environments that are still predominantly male-dominated. Dr. Fritz Audebert, Chair of the Neuburg Discussion Circle, noted: “At the University of Passau, 27 percent of professors are women, which means that 73 percent are male professors.”
As one of the 27 percent of female professors in Germany, Karoline Reinhardt emphasized that it is not enough to focus solely on what women could do differently in professional life - such as appearing more confident, speaking differently, or presenting themselves differently. She stressed that the key issue is structural justice, which concerns fundamentally different questions than how women themselves can adjust their individual behavior.
