Professor Mariano Barbato

Professsor Dr Mariano Barbato was an academic advisor at the Jean Monnet Chair of European Politics from 2008 to 2011 and successfully completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Passau under Professor Göler in 2011. Since January 2019, he has been an adjunct professor of political science at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Passau.

Bernd Hüttemann, M.A.

Bernd Hüttemann, MA, has been Secretary-General of the European Movement Germany e.V. since 2003. His research and teaching in European studies focus on advocacy within the European Union’s multi-level system and European public diplomacy. He completed his studies in Political Science, History and European Law at the University of Bonn in 1999. He was a research fellow at the Institute for European Politics e.V. and headed programmes run by the Federal Foreign Office on the EU accession of Slovakia and Croatia. In a voluntary capacity, he is a member of the Executive Board of Transparency International Deutschland e.V., an advisor to the Bishops’ Working Group on Europe and a member of the Advisory Board of the Berlin Bosphorus Initiative.

Dr Hans Martin Sieg holds a doctorate in political science and history. He currently serves as the ‘EU High-Level Advisor on Strategic Coordination and European Affairs to the President of the Republic of Moldova’. Previously, he was Head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s office in Romania and Moldova, and a foreign policy adviser in the German Bundestag.
