Professor Jessica Kreutz
Holder of the Professorship for Historical Education and Public History
Jessica Kreutz has held the Chair of Historical Education and Public History since July 2025. Due to her professional background, she works predominantly at the disciplinary interface between historical research and history didactics: she completed her doctorate in history at the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Research at the University of Göttingen. After completing her legal clerkship, she worked as a research assistant at the PA Freiburg and the University of Freiburg on the BMBF-funded project ‘Quality Offensive for Teacher Training’ and as an academic advisor at the University of Frankfurt am Main. There she habilitated and received the venia legendi for the subject of history didactics. Certificates and teaching awards round off her profile.
Her current areas of focus include coherence research and the professionalisation of history teachers, digitality in cultural history institutions (e.g. AR/VR) and history-related media education (e.g. dealing with disinformation).
