The team of the Chair of Romance Literatures and Cultures promotes the internationalisation of the University of Passau through:

The Chair team supervises exchange contacts with 14 partner universities in Spain and 17 higher education institutions in Latin America. This corresponds to ca. 80 bachelor’s and master’s places in Spain and 70 bachelor's and master’s places in Latin America for the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies.

Are you interested in studying abroad? In collaboration with the International Office, the Chair supports you in planning and implementing your semester abroad by:

  • an information event conceived by the Chair for study in Latin America. The information event takes place every six months as part of the International Day at the University of Passau.
  • Advice on studying in Spain and Latin America, and supervision during your study abroad. If you have questions about the formal-administrative procedure (e.g. online application, documents to be submitted, deadlines), please contact the International Office.
  • Selection of students for the places at the partner universities (110 - 150 applications annually) according to the following criteria
  • Personal consultation on the content-related issues regarding study abroad
  • Issue of the expert opinion and/or recommendation letter required for studying in Latin America
  • Examination and recognition of courses in Iberian literature and cultural studies completed abroad.

You are coming to Passau for your semester abroad from Spain, Portugal and Latin America? The Chair team supports you by

  • Introducing and implementing an annual information event for students from Spain, Portugal and Latin America
  • Examination of the Overall Learning Agreement for Erasmus+ students from Spain.
