From 18 to 21 May 2026, the Chair of English Language and Culture was pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Elisabetta Cecconi from the University of Florence, Italy. During her stay, Prof. Cecconi contributed to our teaching programme through inspiring seminar sessions and public talks on persuasive strategies in U.S. political discourse and practices of exclusion in American news discourse. She shared her expertise in political linguistics, historical news discourse, persuasion, ideology, and practices of exclusion, offering valuable insights for students and staff alike.
