From 8 to 19 June 2026, the Chair of English Language and Culture welcomed Dr. Anna Garczewska from Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, Poland. During her research stay, hosted by Prof. Dr. Daniela Wawra, Dr. Garczewska worked on her project “Media Campaigns Addressing Violence Against Women.”
Her research examines media campaigns addressing violence against women from legal, semiotic, and sociological perspectives. As part of her stay, she gave guest lectures presenting examples of campaigns from the United States, Germany, and Poland. The lectures and subsequent discussions addressed the influence of cultural and national contexts on campaign strategies and messages, as well as questions of responsible and effective public communication.
We are very grateful to Dr. Garczewska for her visit and the valuable academic exchange.
