We are looking for orchestral instruments in good condition for a socially integrative project for children aged 7 - 10 years. The aim of the project, which runs under the name ‘Orquesta Escuela San Juan’, is to promote the intellectual and personal development of socially disadvantaged children by involving them in orchestras, following the system of the Sistema Nacional de Orquestas y Coros Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela, which has been tried and tested in Venezuela for over 40 years. The project currently supports over 150 children in six orchestras. The collected instruments are loaned to children who cannot afford their own instrument. The project is supported by the Rector of the Universidad Nacional de San Juan and the German Consulate in Buenos Aires, among others.
We can also contribute to the success of the project. If you have an instrument in good condition that you are not using and would like to donate to the project, please contact Mr Guillermo López (e-mail address: pianosbariloche@gmail.com, telephone number 0163 5066904) or Prof. Dr Susanne Hartwig (University of Passau, Chair of Romance Literatures and Cultures, Innstraße 25, 94032 Passau, e-mail address: susanne.hartwig@uni-passau.de, telephone number 0851 5092810).
We would be delighted to have your support!
