Dr. Christian Dölle studied as a scholarship holder of the German Economy Foundation (sdw) at the University of Passau, where he completed a degree in “Languages, Economics, and Cultural Studies” (International Cultural and Business Studies) with a focus on Anglo-American studies and political science. After further study and work placements, including at the University of Edinburgh and the Goethe Institute in Washington D.C., he completed his studies in 2003 with a thesis on the influence of Puritanism on the political culture of the USA.

From 2006 to 2011, Christian Dölle worked as a research assistant in Prof. Dr. Winand Gellner's Department of Political Science at the University of Passau and, from 2010 to 2011, he was also an assistant to the head of the Department of Governance and Historical Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. In fall 2008, Christian Dölle participated in the American Studies Institute at San Francisco State University as a Fulbright scholar.

In May 2011, Mr. Dölle received his doctorate in Passau with a dissertation on the comparison of the political cultures of Germany, Great Britain, and the USA. Until September 2014, he worked as an academic advisor, subject advisor, and coordinator of the DAAD funding program Public Policy and Good Governance for master's students from Global South countries at the Chair of Political Science at the University of Passau. During his time in Passau, Dr. Dölle was also a member of several appointment committees and the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities as a representative of the mid-level academic staff. He is also a trusted alumnus of the German Economy Foundation (sdw) at the University of Passau.
