The Bavarian Culture Fund supports cooperation project between the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation and the Chair of Digital Humanities
At the beginning of May 2020, the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts announced its approval of an application for funding for the cooperation project between the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation and the Chair of Digital Humanities at the University of Passau.
The 'Süddeutsche Zeitung' reported on the funding of our Reiner Kunze cooperation project by the Bavarian Cultural Fund in its May 7, 2020, issue, No. 105, page R12 (SRH: „Geldsegen. Freistaat fördert 135 Kunst- und Kulturprojekte").
Start of the project to digitize and index the archives of the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation
The two-year cooperation project between the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation and the University of Passau for the purpose of digitizing and scientifically indexing the archives of the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation officially began on October 1, 2019, after a planning phase of just under a year under the leadership of Malte Rehbein, Chair of Digital Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Passau, officially began on October 1, 2019.
First, the archives of the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation in Obernzell-Erlau were inspected and a rough inventory was drawn up. Currently, the cataloguing of the holdings is being prepared in accordance with current professional and scientific standards in order to enable future digital networking with relevant national and international databases. The conceptual planning and scientific processing of the project is being carried out by Dr. Linda von Keyserlingk-Rehbein and Markus Gerstmeier, M.A. In the configuration of the necessary database software they are supported by the team at the Chair of Digital Humanities at the University of Passau. The digitization of the archival materials is being carried out by Tobias Bloch, assistant to the chair. Dionys Asenkerschbaumer from the board of trustees of the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation is digitizing the art objects from the Kunze couple's collection.
The cooperation project, which will run until September 30, 2021, is funded by the Cultural Foundation of the District of Lower Bavaria, the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Passau, Sparkasse Passau, the Reiner and Elisabeth Kunze Foundation, and the S. Fischer Foundation, Berlin. The early start of the project has already been approved.
