In addition to a focus on the Catholic Enlightenment, his research interests include social and cultural history issues across different eras, as well as cultural studies theories of memory and identity construction among Catholics in the first and second half of the 20th century.

In addition to a strong affinity for narrative texts and the phenomenon of pseudepigraphy, his research focuses on cultural studies memory theory and early Christian identity construction, the Bible and economics, biblical methodology and hermeneutics, and university didactics.

Our research focuses on the areas of constructivist religious education, performative religious instruction and learning from other people's biographies. We are also interested in researching teaching practice and the effectiveness of teaching, the development of religious education textbooks, issues relating to networked teacher training in religious education, and the field of church space education.

Contemporary theological issues are diverse and require a theology that is as sensitive to the plurality and heterogeneity of today's life situations and lifestyles as it is to the diversity of biblical and theological-historical perspectives. Faith must be considered in terms of its historical development as well as its openness to development. The subject of dogmatic theology is not simply rigid doctrines, but the core content that shapes identity and the life of faith of a faith community with its diverse relationships to society and the environment. The primary focus of the chair is to highlight the soteriological goal of dogmatics: the Jesus Christ-oriented discourse on the successful, fulfilled and perfected life of human beings in their relationship with God and their fellow human beings.
