Québec-Bayern Forum 2024

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the relationship between Québec and Bavaria, the 2nd Québec-Bavaria Forum took place on May 17, 2024 at the University of Passau. The event dealt in an interdisciplinary way with the topics of intercultures and immigration in education and work as well as entrepreneurship in the context of Bavaria and Québec.

Migration, immigration and the integration of people into societies are also intercultural phenomena that have not yet been adequately acknowledged in practice or research. Even though there are many challenges to be named, we want to focus on the opportunities for coexistence, communication …

The varied program, consisting of lectures and discussion rounds in three languages (English, French, German), which was designed by students, scientists, government representatives and entrepreneurs from Québec and Bavaria, made it possible to explore and discuss the topics from different perspectives (practice-teaching-research, Québec-Bavaria).

We would like to thank everyone involved!

In organizing the Québec Day, Professor Christoph Barmeyer was supported by the academic staff of the Chair of Intercultural Communication at the University of Passau, Tuzienka Chenet Ugarte, Elisabeth Huber and Dr. Sina Großkopf as well as Alexandra Winterkorn.

The event was sponsored by the Bavarian State Chancellery and the Quebec Ministry of International Relations and Francophonie.
