The Chair of English Literature and Culture offers exchange programmes with the following universities:
| Country | University |
|---|---|
| England | Sheffield Hallam University (focus: International Cultural and Business Studies) |
| Ireland | |
| Japan | Akita International University |
| Poland | University of Lodz (Uniwersytet Łódzki) |
| Sweden | |
| Spain | Universitat de les Illes Balears, Palma de Mallorca (focus: International Cultural and Business Studies) |
| Wales |
Please note that the Chair of English Literature and Culture can facilitate exchange opportunities only with the partner universities listed above. For administrative reasons, however, all Erasmus+ applications nominating one of the listed universities as their first choice will be processed by the Chair of English Literature and Culture first. If the first choice should then prove unattainable, the application may be forwarded to a different chair if the second choice is administered elsewhere. In turn, if the first choice is a university that cooperates with a different chair, your application will be sent there first. This is important to keep in mind as you complete your application, since one chair might have concluded their selection by the time your application is forwarded there. Applying to multiple universities managed by the same chair may thus increase your chances.
Please also note that due to the limited number of available places, your chances of a successful application to one of the listed universities increase if your course of study includes an English literature and culture profile. Such a profile generally supports how you will benefit from the exchange and is in fact required by some – though not all – of our partner universities. Some of the exchange cooperations are particularly, but again not exclusively, designed for students of International Cultural and Business Studies.
Should your application prove unsuccessful, especially if submitted during your first or second semester at the University of Passau, you are encouraged to apply again. A previous unsuccessful application has no impact on your chances for a new application.
All applications are considered with care and attention to individual motivations and merits. Applications are assessed based on the following criteria (listed in order of their importance, beginning with the most important):
