PhD Students

Laura Mayer is a PHD student with the Chair of English Literature and Culture and gained her M. A. in European Studies from the University of Passau in 2024. Her thesis focuses on British literatures and cultures of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries with a special interest in Irish women’s writing of the Romantic era and the works of Sydney Owenson, Lady Morgan. Her research interests include women’s historical writing and national tales, travel writing and cosmopolitanism, as well as women’s political writing and print cultures in the nineteenth century
