Dr. Michele Chinitz
I am an Assistant Professor of English Literature and Culture at the University of Passau. I work primarily on British and global Anglophone literatures and specialize in postcolonial studies, German Jewish studies, translation, music, film, and new media. My recent publications appear in the Journal of Modern Literatureand EuropeNow. In 2025, I co-organized Reverberations Mixtape, a multimedia platform and digital volume about sound, collectivity, and futurity. Currently I am writing a book about music and complicity in global Anglophone and German fiction. My second book project focuses on collectivity in minoritarian fiction and film collectives. Previously, I taught at Albion College and the City College of New York. In my teaching, I am eager to empower students to analyze and creatively reflect on the complexity of their own lives through a comparative consideration of literature, culture, and history in different parts of the world.
