Our research projects deal with literary texts, films and theatre performances from Europe (especially Spain and France) and Latin America.
Professor Marina Ortrud Hertrampf
Professorship in Romance Literature and Cultural Studies (focus on France)
The professorship's research focuses on intermediality (especially comics and graphic novels), spatial theories, trans-/interculturality, identity/alterity, diaspora, migration and Romani studies. In terms of literary history, the research focus is on Frankish Romance studies in the 20th and 21st centuries and Hispanic studies in the early modern period.
Professor Ursula Reutner
Chair of Romance Languages and Cultures
We see language as a culturally influenced medium of communication. Language behaviour reflects the individual characteristics of the speaker as well as the distinctive features of social groups and entire cultures. That is why we are interested in these research topics.
